Mike Fields, Sr. Breaks His Own West Coast Pro Outlaw ET Record, Again. Running against his own records at Sacramento Raceway Park, Mike Fields, Sr. has been rewriting the West Coast ET records for the last few years...we shot him in October 2006 at Sacramento when he both dialed and ran a 7.80 @ 186.34 setting both track and West Coast records (see Dragbike.com's Nov. 7, 2006 'Top Alcohol Results' front page story - still in archives). Fields dominated the Outlaw class again in 2007 as the first man to break into the 7's in both Washington state and Oregon; he also captured the NWDB 2007 Pro Outlaw Title. Then in early 2008 he ran a 7.67 at Sacramento earning him a feature spread in 2 Wheel Tuner's November issue. Also running the first ever side-by-side 7-second West Coast run against long-time Outlaw rival Mark Moore from Las Vegas. Most recently he laid down a blistering 7.48 @ 187.76 (pictured here just prior) in September 2008, once again at Sacramento. Fields also set the West Coast 1/8 mile record @ 4.90. The buzz in the pits that day was he should just add wheelie bars and run with the Top Alcohol bikes, as there was no competition in Outlaw left for him! His fastest run to date is 191.54 (not backed up). Even more impressive is that Fields weighs in at 270 suited (a 770 lb. total package). Originally scheduled to turn his 1999 PCP Motorsports sponsored 1298cc NLR Turbo 'Busa over to his son, Mike, Jr. this year to ride - Fields, as the man to beat out West, has decided to try the MDRA for 2009 instead, watch Dragbike.com for more on this story as it develops.
Arenacross.com interview with PCP Motorsports Racer Beau Judge #721

AX: How long have you been racing? Beau: I started racing when I was 7 years old. AX: You have been racing Arenacross for many years now, what did you think about the change in location for the Amateur National Arenacross Championships? Beau: I thought the change was for the better, I liked it a lot!

AX: Being at the Sam Boyd Stadium, we had a huge layout change, what were your initial thoughts on the track layout and design when you walked the track Sunday morning? Beau: I was surprised and excited to see that we got to race on the same track that the guys from the night before raced on with very little changes. The track flowed very well, it was lot of fun!

AX: You have been a runner up at the Arenacross Finals for years now, and this year, you swept 2 classes, and also qualified to receive your Supercross Lites endorsement for 2011. These are huge accomplishments. Did you do anything different to train and prepare for the Amateur National Arenacross Championships? Beau: I didn’t really change anything. I think the more open, supercross style track worked to my advantage. I grew up racing outdoors only so the more open the track, the better.

AX: What do you do when you are not racing or in the off season? Beau: I don’t really have an off season, if Arenacross or Motocross is not going on, I do cross country racing; I am always on my bike. I also spend a lot of time with my 2 year old son Braden (I’m trying to start him out early on dirtbikes) -we go to a lot of bounce houses!

AX: Can the arenacross fans look forward to seeing you defend your titles in the 2011 Arenacross season? Beau: Yes I will be trying to defend my titles. I really hope that the finals are back at Sam Boyd Stadium; it was the best.

AX: Who would you like to thank for helping you achieve these accomplishments? Beau: I would like to say thanks to all the guys at PCP Motorsports out of Sacramento, Ca. It’s really a great shop to ride for and they help me out a lot, and the AMA arenacross for putting on great races and making all of this possible for me. THANK YOU!!!!

AX: Congratulations again Beau on your 2 Amateur National Arenacross Championship wins in the Over 25 and Over 30 classes! Hopefully we will see you again next season!
